JAMES E. AGINS III

5th Dan

My Tang Soo Do training started in 1991, at Pocono Tang Soo Do in Tannersville, PA under the direction of Master Thomas Richards. I was 31 years old. The school had many students and they welcomed me like family. The style was very traditional, and the instructor was very strict. He challenged me mentally, physically, and spiritually, and it changed my life for the better. I tested for my black belt in 1993 in front of a panel of masters. It was an experience I’ll never forget. I went on to test for my second degree black belt in 1995 and my third degree in 1998. I received my Instructor’s Certificate in 1993 and I continue to renew it every year. You have to test two times for your fourth degree and I tested for my fourth degree black belt at the Masters’ Clinic in Alabama, in 2013 and 2014. It was a very special time in my life.

I love to be able to teach Tang Soo Do, to give back what has been given to me, to challenge students mentally, physically and spiritually, and to help them better their lives. The experience of brotherhood, professionalism, and traditionalism are what I will never forget and will always treasure.
